"Preconditioning for PDE-constrained optimization"
problems with constraints in terms of partial differential equations
arise in many scientific and engineering applications. Discretization
and, in the nonlinear case, linearization of such problems result in (a
sequence of) large structured algebraic linear systems in saddle point
form. The minisymposium is aimed at providing insights on recent
developments with respect to the construction and the analysis of
efficient methods for solving these linear systems. The talks will
mainly focus on efﬁcient preconditioning techniques in combination with
Krylov subspace methods.
